Can feeling ‘weak’ actually be a GOOD thing?

Reading Though some Chinese Philosophy at the moment (Not my usual reading)

But a few things have stood out to me from, quite frankly

People who have nailed this skill of ‘happiness’

Here’s a quick paragraph:

’Nothing in the world is soft and weak as water

But when attacking the hard and strong

Nothing can conquer so easily’

This is quite interesting

Here’s what It means to me (and maybe to you)

Water just IS..

It’s always there

It brings life, has multiple uses and would likely be described as ‘soft’ or ‘weak’ etc

However when used efficiently

It overcomes EVERYTHING with all that it is

By It’s very nature it is therefore incredibly dangerous

But also vitally important to us all

I believe, the same can be said for the human spirit

Each capable of very dangerous actions with potentially

FATAL results to many

But equally capable of bringing life and joy to the many

To Be someone people are inspired and comforted by

To be the soul that gives people hope and courage to continue

When they may be feeling their lack

The strength of the human spirit knows no bounds

even though many may think of themselves as ‘weak’ or ‘too soft’ or ‘pathetic’ etc..

(^^^ So far, thats the best interpretation I’ve came up with)

I’m no saint

I don’t follow religion

But I respect better and more useful ways of living and growing and contributing

See, I came from an ‘average’ background

Growing up in Boldon, A small mining town in North East England

My Mam was a charity worker for animals

My Dad was a fire fighter

I remember for Christmas and other times

I didn’t actually get everything I wanted

But Upon reflection I always got what I needed

The thing with life?..

You’re usually ALWAYS going to have everything you NEED

Maybe not always what you WANT

But you can CHOOSE how to use what you already have

You can also choose what having what you have, means to you

When you understand that holding on too tight to what you DO have

Or DON’T have for that matter

And understand that living in a state of not being able to ‘let go’

You’ll eventually lose it anyway

Holding too tight becomes too exhausting to keep up

To be flexible and open?

And I guess you could say more ‘curious’

You’ll START things more openly with an understanding attitude

That It’s OK To start small and gain small

Another Paragraph from the Chinese teachings:

‘THE MOST DIFFICULT THINGS IN THE WORLD

MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THE EASIEST

THE GREATEST THINGS IN THE WORLD

MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THE SMALLEST’

To me?..

This means Starting with where you are,

With what you have, and trusting in the process

Often trusting in whats seemingly ‘pointless’ at times

And maybe doesn’t give and INSTANT RESULT..

Often, because some things don’t give us an immediate FEEL GOOD/FEEL BAD/FEEL DIFFERENT ‘feeling’

We disregard them

We render them ‘useless’

When in fact..

It’s our beliefs and behaviours that are likely more ‘useless’

I have my own philosophy which I live by these days

A lot of which involves seemingly small, easy (Often described as ‘pointless’ things)

But which, when compounded

Elevate your experience in life to a MUCH Higher level

Here’s My philosophy for LIFE:

FIND WHAT WORKS

THAT YOU ENJOY

THAT YOU CAN KEEP UP

Quite simply…

Thats it!

Ever noticed how mostly we do the opposite?

Why is it that we struggle so much?..

I believe it’s because we get distracted

And we harshly judge ourselves

And us believing in the initial judgment of something

Sometimes leads us to allowing the best things in life to pass us by

By our desire to disregard things that don’t immediately gratify us

You know sometimes?..

Your feelings will LIE to you

Sometimes you just gotta trust more in the PROCESS
